METAL ARC SPRAY

We have built over a dozen special machines for metal arc spraying. In some cases we transport the item to be coated past fixed torches, in other cases we manipulate the arc spray guns. A number of machines have been built to arc spray flat plates. This can be performed either vertically or horizontally. We have also designed some special machines to arc spray tubular items.

	In this application, we designed a conveyor system to both rotate and translate a tube past fixed arc spray guns. A discharge table was also included.
	The unit shown was used to metal spray a rotating tube hung vertically. The spray gun had the ability to follow a profile. Most of these systems were integrated with an overall PLC control to handle grit blast, metal spray and final painting.
	This shows the metal arc spray being applied from top to bottom. Once the spray is past the end of  the cylinder, the torch is tilted to better apply the coating to the bottom.
	This shows the conveyor line used to transport the items from grit  blast to metal spray to the unloading station.
